Operation Director of China

Job description

 

Background:

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and recruit engineers and other staffing to support and manage the IBX Facilities (HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment, etc.)
  • Ensure continuous (7×24) operation of the IBX facilities and related services
  • Monitor and cooperate with our China delivery partners to implement services as per customer contract and specifications, and to gain high customer satisfaction
  • Management of the overall Operations Budget (Opex and Capex)
  • Work closely with all China and global functions for any new regional or global operations initiatives or assignments
  • Work closely with relevant Sales team and China delivery partners to win new business directly or indirectly, as well as for retaining current customers
  • Daily management include:
    o Manages cross-functional teams of managers and staff. Schedule workforce and manage assignments to meet commitments (SLAs)
    o Ensures that the team is working safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance
    o Lead to ensure effective fault response and incident management processes are followed to full satisfaction
    o Provides strategic guidance and direction to drive team results
    o Manage and execute internal corporate and technical policies and procedures
    o Initiate and foster formal continuous improvements in all areas
    o Ensure the teams carry out the testing and maintenance schedules as developed

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering preferred. MBA or technical master degree or equivalent experiences a plus
  • Fluent in English & Chinese, both written and oral
  • Over 10 years people management experience, and management of a sizable team of above 100 staff will be preferred
  • 5 years+ background in hands-on Data Center operations and management preferred
  • Familiar with laws and regulations in China related to Data Center Operations
  • Good problem solving skill, effective analytical abilities and good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and planning skills, customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and use influencing skills to collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders in the APAC region to drive outcomes
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, listening and presentation skills. Able to articulate complex ideas and strategies to people at all levels of the organization
