LM INDEX - EXECUTIVE DEMAND
The Lloyd Morgan Index provides clients of Lloyd Morgan with a comprehensive monthly analysis of employment trends at executive levels throughout Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and China.
The Lloyd Morgan Index is actually a combined National Index for each market of all executive demand made up of five separate indices:
- Lloyd Morgan Finance Index
- Lloyd Morgan IT Index
- Lloyd Morgan Management Index
- Lloyd Morgan Marketing Index
- Lloyd Morgan Engineering Index
These sector indices are determined by the monthly vacancy activity in each of these groups normalised to a historical base period of 100. The base period used is the third quarter average of 2001.
By averaging to a historic base the comparison of a specific period can be meaningful giving a clean and easily understood appreciation for the changing investment and economic trends without seasonal obscurity.
The Lloyd Morgan Index of executive demand has some interesting correlative and predictive qualities, such as:
Employment of management usually precedes the employment of skilled and unskilled workers. Employment of engineering executives precedes major capital investment and the division between various management sectors gives an indication of which sectors of the economy are experiencing growth or decline.
